Want a Cute, Good Looking Dog But Don’t Want to Mess with All the Grooming?

Want a Cute, Good Looking Dog But Don’t Want to Mess with All the Grooming?

When people search for the perfect dog that will be the best fit for their families,  they are typically drawn to the cute little breeds that fit perfectly in their lap or a handbag. They are adorable and easy to take places and travel with. Small dogs make for great pets for older people who are retired or, whose children have left home. The upkeep seems to be a little easier, and you still have some sort of companionship. These are all things that attract certain people to smaller dog breeds. Many of these breeds are considered show breeds like Maltese, Toy Poodles, West Highland Terriers, etc. Some of these breeds have longer fur that requires some sort of care. This can turn people away because they think they do not have the time, patience, or place to groom these types of breeds. The good news is that owners do not have to concern themselves with this part. This is what professional groomers are for. It is a great feeling to drop your dog off in need of full-service grooming and go pick them up a few hours later and have all the hard work done for you. The groomer bathes, cleans the ears, clips the nails, releases the anal glands, and cuts your dog’s hair.

What if I Do Not Like the Common Cuts for My Particular Breed?

Each dog breed has a specific haircut that is stereotypical of that breed, but this does not mean that is the only way the groomer will cut your dog’s fur. The groomer is there to not only make your dog look and feel great but also to please the dog’s owner. They want to make sure that you are getting the exact cut that you want for your dog. For example, I own a Maltese who has very fluffy long white hair that requires a lot of grooming and combing. I, however, choose to keep him completely shaved because he likes to think of himself as an outside country dog and so much dirt, mud, grass burrs, and many other bits of debris get stuck in all that hair, so I have it shaved off. He doesn’t look like a show dog, but he is clean and happy. My groomer understands this and cuts his hair exactly how I want it.
